Genetics Social Club Madrid: An Honest Experience

Facebook

When people search for a cannabis club in Madrid, one of the first names that appears is Genetics Social Club. Frequently cited as one of the city’s most popular weed clubs, it enjoys strong branding and visibility online. But does it really live up to the hype? After several visits to the Chamberí location, my experience tells a more complicated story.

First Impressions of Genetics Social Club

Walking into Genetics for the first time, I was struck by the professional attitude of the staff. They were polite, welcoming, and created an initial sense of calm (well come do, others need some customer service 101). The club’s reputation online suggests it is a relaxing, almost premium environment and in some ways that is true.

I came with a colleague visiting from Holland and at first we both felt we had found a decent place to unwind. The branding is sleek, the name carries weight, and many tourists seem to fall for its appeal when searching for cannabis clubs in Madrid.

Membership and Fees

High Costs Compared to Other Cannabis Clubs

The first issue we noticed was the membership process. While all cannabis associations in Madrid require sign up fees, Genetics felt particularly expensive. The membership fee was higher than average a6 30€ and there was not much transparency about what members were actually paying for.

It felt more like a business transaction than joining a community based association, a sharp contrast to the nonprofit spirit these clubs are supposed to represent.

Products and Pricing

Overpriced Cannabis and Inconsistent Supply

Genetics Social Club is often praised for the quality of its products, with some reviewers even claiming the strains are impossible to find anywhere else in Spain. To be fair, some of the flowers looked and smelled great. But the reality did not always match the hype.

On multiple occasions, products were unavailable entirely. Imagine visiting a cannabis club only to discover they did not even have marijuana in stock. At other times, the cannabis they did have looked subpar, more like something bought in a lavapies ally or park in Vallecas than from a premium club.

And when product was available, the prices were very high. Paying 26 euros per gram for average quality cannabis is hard to justify, especially when other clubs in Madrid offer better value.

Atmosphere and Facilities

Small, Dirty, and Disappointing

The physical space at Genetics Social Club was another letdown. Far from being a comfortable lounge, the club felt small, cluttered, and not very clean. Even simple amenities like water were not available when I asked, which made the experience feel even less professional.

The crowd also felt awkward. While some regulars were friendly, many were tourists or newcomers who had clearly found the club online. Instead of a tight knit community, Genetics felt more like a revolving door.

Reliability and Service

Unreliable Opening Hours

Another major frustration was the lack of respect for opening times. On more than one occasion, I arrived during posted hours only to find the doors locked. For a club that charges high membership fees, this level of inconsistency is unacceptable. When someone did finally aririved after complaining the lady that opened the door had a bad attitude and did not attend us well at all.

Mixed Reviews From Other Visitors

I am not the only one who felt let down. Other members have reported dirty premises, rude or inattentive service, overpriced products, and even days when the club had nothing to offer. One reviewer even described it as the worst association they had ever been to, citing both high prices and low quality.

Verdict: A Tourist Trap in Chamberí

After five visits, I can confidently say that Genetics Social Club thrives more on Google visibility and branding than on delivering genuine value. The friendly staff and occasional high quality product cannot make up for the many shortcomings:

  • High membership fees
  • Overpriced cannabis
  • Inconsistent availability
  • Small and dirty facilities
  • Unreliable opening hours
  • An awkward tourist heavy crowd

While Genetics may be famous, that does not mean it is the best. In fact, I would call it more of a tourist trap than a true community based cannabis association.

Should You Visit Genetics Social Club?

If you are curious and do not mind paying premium prices for inconsistent results, Genetics might be worth checking out once. But if you want real value, authentic community, and reliable cannabis in Madrid, there are far better options available.
